WMGC Magic 105.1 “Teacher Of The
Year” - Contest Rules
How to Enter & Win
The “Teacher Of The Year” contest begins October 1st,
2007 and will end with the selection of the grand prize
winner on or about May 30th, 2007. Write us to tell us
who your favorite teacher is and why that teacher is
special. Entrants may not submit their own name. Entries
must be submitted via e-mail to teacher@detroitmagic.com
or fax at 248-586-3077 or US Mail to Magic 105.1

and received between October 1st,
2007- May 30th, 2008.
Each entry must be 250 words or fewer; entries that
exceed the word limit will be disqualified. One entry
will be selected every Friday during the contest to win
a qualifying prize, starting October 5th,2007. Judges,
who are employees of Magic 105.1, will select each
week's qualifier from the entries received as of that
date. Entries will be judged on how inspiring, helpful
and/or life-changing the teacher who is the subject of
the entry has been to the entrant. All qualifying
entries will be eligible for the Grand Prize round, with
the Grand Prize winner being selected based on the same
judging criteria as the qualifiers. Judges’ decisions
will be made in their sole discretion; all decisions of
the judges are final and binding on the contestants. The
selection for the Grand Prize will be made on or about
June 13th, 2007 at the Magic 105.1 Studios from all
eligible qualifying entries. All winners will be
notified by phone.
Qualifying Prize
(1) A total of 35 Qualifying Magic Prize packs,
including t-shirt, mug, sticker & mirror, will be
awarded (one per week) to the person submitting that
week’s qualifying entry. Total ARV is $15
(2) A total of thirty-five (35)
$25 gift certificates to Chicken Shack will be
awarded, one per week, to the selected teachers. Total ARV
is $25
Grand Prize
One (1) grand prize will be awarded to the teacher
identified in the winning entry. Grand prize consists
of:
(1) $5,000.00 in Cash or company check
Non-cash prizes are not redeemable for cash. Magic 105.1
reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to
substitute any prize for one of equal or greater value.
Winners may not request prize substitution. Prizes are
non-transferable and may not be claimed or used by any
person other than the winner. Prizes not claimed within
the 30-day period will be forfeited
Eligibility
All entrants must be at least 21 years old and legal
residents of the United States or Canada, living or
working within Magic’s area of dominant influence (as
defined by Arbitron). A winner will be disqualified if
he/she or a member of his/her household has won a Magic
105.1 contest with a value over $25.00 within the
previous 30 days. Employees (including their immediate
families and members of the same household) of Greater
Boston Radio, Inc., its affiliates (including Magic
105.1), promotional sponsors, and advertising and
promotional agencies who do business with Magic 105.1
are not eligible to participate in any contest presented
by Magic 105.1. No purchase or other consideration is
necessary to participate in a contest.
Release
Winners agree to release and hold harmless the promotion
sponsors, Magic 105.1, Greater Boston Radio, Inc., and
each of their respective parents, subsidiaries,
affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents
from any and all liability and any injuries, loss or
damage of any kind arising from or in connection with
this contest and any prize won. Winners and their guest
will be required to sign a form releasing Magic 105.1
and its affiliated companies from all liability in
connection with the contest and the award and use of the
prize before claiming the prize.
Disclaimer
Magic 105.1 undertakes no liability or responsibility,
and makes no warranties, express or implied, with
respect to the performance of the prize(s) awarded, for
any failure to perform or negligent performance of any
service provider, or for any other risk, incident or
damage, direct or indirect, relating to or arising out
of the contest, including (but not limited to)
cancellations, postponements, delays or other scheduling
changes; missed events or connections or inability of
winner to attend; and accident, injury, damage or
expense arising from or occurring during the use of the
prize, or travel to/from or attendance at any event
relating to the contest, by the winner and/or winner’s
guest(s). Magic 105.1 is not responsible for damage to a
prize or loss of a prize after the prize has been
claimed. Winners must inspect their prizes before
leaving the station. Magic 105.1 is not responsible for
the failure or malfunction of any telecommunications or
computer system, or for lost, late or misdirected
contest entries, whether transmitted by mail, telephone,
fax or internet.
License
Entry into any contest constitutes full permission for
Magic 105.1 and promotion sponsors and their respective
affiliates to broadcast and/or to photograph or publish
the participant's name, voice, recorded comments,
biographical information, face and likeness without
compensation.
Taxes
Magic 105.1 will report the total value of each prize to
the IRS and will furnish winners with a federal Form
1099. Winners must provide their social security number
to Magic 105.1 for tax reporting purposes, and are
solely responsible for payment of all taxes incurred as
a result of the award of a prize.
General
Failure to conform to all contest rules, or any fraud or
other illegal or inappropriate conduct on the part of a
contestant, will result in the contestant's
disqualification and forfeiture of any prize won. Magic
105.1 reserves the right to rule ineligible listeners
who, in Magic 105.1’s sole judgment, engage in abusive
conduct with respect to any contest or promotion
conducted by Magic 105.1 or its affiliates. By taking
part in this contest, participants agree to be bound by
these rules and all decisions of the judges, who are
employees of Magic 105.1 and whose decisions with
respect to all aspects of the contest are final and
binding. Copies of written contest rules and the list of
winners are available during regular business hours at
the Magic 105.1 studio, One Radio Plaza, Detroit,
Michigan 48220. Contest is void where prohibited by law.
All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
This contest is being conducted by Magic 105.1.
